YOU ARE NOT ALONE
You may feel like you’re losing your child right now. You’ve talked to counselors, teachers, religious leaders, and even law enforcement, but nothing has helped. Your daily life has become a constant battle with feelings of fear, hopelessness, and failure because your child has become someone you don’t recognize.
It’s easy to give in to defeat. It’s understandable to feel helpless. Your anger is natural because the wounds are fresh. But, you are not alone. We’re here to help your son, and to help rebuild your family relationships.
Lakeside Academy is a therapeutic, loving, Christ-filled temporary home for your son, that will help with healing, and restoring hope and peace to your family. The journey at Lakeside Academy may be challenging, but it is one we will take together.
We Can Transform Your Lives
Right now it may feel like no one understands your pain. You may feel like time is running out for you to find peace and happiness in your family. The people sharing their stories in the videos below know exactly what you’re feeling. They have been where you are now.
At Lakeside Academy we can help rebuild your family and ensure that both parents and children have the tools needed to interact in constructive and healthy ways, rebuild trust and confidence, and grow from a place of love.
We provide help for troubled teens in a compassionate, holistic way. Our Christian sober living program and approach to mental health care set us apart from other troubled teen programs.
We understand that your child is struggling, not broken, and needs help to get back on the right path.
At our Christian recovery center, we work with your child, both individually and in group sessions, with the goal of rebuilding your family.
Continuing education is an important part of recovery. When you bring your child to Lakeside Academy, you can trust that they are going to receive a high-quality education alongside compassionate sobriety programs.
The on-site classes follow a normal public school calendar and offer a blended learning approach.
Your child can benefit from an enriched learning experience that combines traditional classroom training with online education and project-based learning.
We understand that not every child has the same classroom abilities, which is why we offer IEPs based on individual needs.
This approach to learning encourages your child to succeed in all areas of education.
We believe that challenging your child is important, as is giving them many opportunities to excel. Parents are encouraged to keep in touch with teachers and the program administrator through phone calls or email.
How We are Different
At Lakeside Academy, we are not just another school for troubled boys. As one of the top Christian residential treatment centers in the country, we approach these issues a bit differently than another school for troubled teens may.
Instead of focusing on the behavior, we focus on the underlying problem comprehensively to promote a sustainable healing process.
Our team of counselors, teachers, and other mental health professionals genuinely care about your child and their progress through the program.
This alone sets us apart from other similar schools, who lack an adolescent-centric approach to healing.
We also know that the healing process involves the whole family, not just your child, which is why we offer assistance to you and your child during this difficult family time.
Our mental health professionals keep you updated on your child’s progress, giving you information and tools you can use at home to continue promoting a healing environment.
Parents are encouraged to keep in touch with teachers and counselors through email and phone calls so that you can monitor your child’s progress.
Restoring Self-Esteem
One of the biggest issues most teens struggle with when they arrive at Lakeside Academy is low self-esteem.
Our Christian mental health facilities help your child address those core issues that can lead to depression, anxiety, and addiction.
We help your child examine their past actions, looking for patterns, and identifying the underlying reasons for destructive behaviors.
By working with them in this way, we can help your son rediscover their self-esteem.
Once they understand why those destructive behaviors began, we can begin working on tools and strategies to promote sober living and find new, healthier coping mechanisms to deal with the underlying emotions.
By providing a safe, accepting, and nurturing environment, we are able to address those underlying emotions in a healthy way as they surface.
Each one of our staff members approaches their work with compassion and concern for the teens in our care.
We strive to provide each one with the care and love they need until they are able to care for themselves.
Our programs are carefully designed to help your son see that they are a powerful, bright, worthy person, who can take control of their life and move on to sober living.
